I can't say I liked the book, it just isn't the right word. I think it is important, and horrific. I haven't had to recommend it to anyone yet, it just keeps checking out.
I finally read this . . . I really dreaded it. As already said - a horrific book. Well done . . . but horrific. I'm not sure what to say about it - I agree that it is important, but . . . .how would I be able to say - here's the winner . . . in some way it reminds me of Go Ask Alice . . .
Ok, just read this last night and I will agree that it is important, and quite good. I also agree that It is hard to justify it as an award winner. I think this mostly just because there are better books this year. This one is just not as good, important or not, as some other I have read. I do think it will stay with me for a very long time though.

I love this book. How I could suggest it to someone remains a mystery to me - definitely deserves honors - but I can see the reservations...
